We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data (such as health data) through this website. Please do not send us such data unless it is strictly necessary.
4. Purposes and legal bases
We process personal data for the following purposes:
• to operate, secure and improve our website;
• to answer your enquiries and requests for quotations or technical support;
• to conclude and perform contracts with customers, distributors and suppliers;
• to send our newsletter and information on our products, if you have subscribed;
• to analyse the use of our website (with your consent);
• to comply with legal obligations and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Under Swiss law, we process personal data in accordance with the principles of the FADP and, where required, on the basis of your consent, a contract, a legal obligation or our overriding legitimate interests. Where the GDPR applies, the legal bases are Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent), Art. 6(1)(b) (contract and pre-contractual measures), Art. 6(1)(c) (legal obligation) and Art. 6(1)(f) (legitimate interests, e.g. website security, responding to business enquiries and B2B communication).
5. Cookies and web analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Strictly necessary cookies are used to operate the website and store your cookie preferences. Statistics, preference and marketing cookies are only set with your prior consent, which you give via our cookie banner (Complianz). You can change or withdraw your consent at any time on our cookie preferences page or via your browser settings.
With your consent, we use Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit), provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, and Google LLC (USA), to analyse how visitors use our website. IP addresses are shortened before storage, and analytics data is retained for 14 months. Data may be transferred to the United States (see section 10). More information: policies.google.com/privacy.
6. Contact forms and email
When you contact us via a form or by email, we process the data you provide in order to handle your request and any follow-up. Form submissions are transmitted to us by email through our hosting infrastructure. Mandatory fields are marked; providing additional information is voluntary. Where your request concerns a country covered by one of our distributors, we may forward it to that distributor (see section 9).
7. Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use your email address to send you information about FINEAMIN, our products and events. Subscription is based on your consent and confirmed by a double opt-in email. Our newsletter is sent via Mailchimp (Intuit Inc., USA), which may process your data in the United States. We may evaluate opening and click rates to improve our communications. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every newsletter or by email to geneva@fineamin.ch.
8. Social media, videos and maps
Our website contains links to our profiles on LinkedIn, YouTube and Facebook. These are simple links: no data is transmitted to these platforms until you click on them. When you visit these platforms, their own privacy policies apply.
Where we embed YouTube videos or Google Maps (e.g. in our distributor locator), these services are only loaded with your consent or when you actively start them. Google may then process your IP address and usage data, including in the United States.
9. Disclosure to third parties
We only disclose personal data where necessary for the purposes described above, in particular to:
• our hosting provider Infomaniak Network SA, Rue Eugène-Marziano 25, 1227 Les Acacias (Geneva), Switzerland, which hosts our website and emails on servers located in Switzerland;
• other service providers acting on our behalf (e.g. newsletter dispatch, web analytics, website security and maintenance), bound by contract to process data only on our instructions;
• our authorised distributors and partners in the relevant country, when your request concerns their territory (for example a quotation, local technical support or product supply);
• authorities, courts or advisers, where required by law or to protect our rights.
We do not sell your personal data.
10. Transfers abroad
Your data is primarily stored in Switzerland. Some recipients may be located in the European Union/EEA or in other countries, including the United States (e.g. Google, Mailchimp) and the countries of our distributors. Transfers to countries recognised by the Swiss Federal Council as providing adequate data protection (including the EU/EEA) take place on that basis. For the United States, transfers rely on the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified. For other countries without adequate protection, we use the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission and recognised by the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), or another legal exception (e.g. performance of a contract you requested).
11. Retention period
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or as required by law:
• enquiries and contact data: up to 3 years after our last exchange;
• contract, accounting and business records: 10 years (Art. 958f of the Swiss Code of Obligations);
• newsletter data: until you unsubscribe;
• web analytics data: 14 months;
• server log files: for a limited period defined by our hosting provider for security purposes.
Data is then deleted or anonymised.
12. Data security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), access restrictions, firewall and security monitoring of our website, and regular updates. However, no transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
13. Your rights
Subject to the applicable law, you have the right to:
• obtain information on whether and which personal data we process about you (right of access);
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data deleted or its processing restricted;
• object to processing based on our legitimate interests or for direct marketing;
• receive your data in a commonly used electronic format or have it transferred (data portability);
• withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
To exercise your rights, contact us at geneva@fineamin.ch. We may ask you to verify your identity. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern, www.edoeb.admin.ch, or, where the GDPR applies, with the supervisory authority of your country of residence or work in the EU/EEA.
14. Automated decision-making and minors
We do not use automated individual decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects concerning you. Our website is intended for professional users and is not directed at children under 16; we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The version published on this website applies. Last updated: 22 October 2026.
