BOILER WATER TREATMENT

Continuous Boiler Protection

Long-Term Operational Treatment Phase

Continuous boiler protection refers to the long-term operational treatment phase of the Fineamin boiler water treatment program.

Unlike startup cleaning or boiler preservation procedures, this approach is designed for continuous application during normal boiler operation, where filming amines are continuously dosed to maintain a stable hydrophobic protective film throughout the entire steam-water-condensate cycle.

How Continuous Protection Works

Unlike conventional water treatment programs, such as hydrazine and phosphates, that focus mainly on adjusting water chemistry parameters, Fineamin protects the metal surfaces directly by forming a stable hydrophobic protective film across the entire steam-water-condensate cycle.

This protective molecular layer reduces the direct contact between water, dissolved gases, and metal surfaces, helping minimize corrosion, deposit formation, and the transport of corrosion products throughout the system.

As long as the film is stable, protection remains active not only inside the boiler, but also in steam lines, condensate networks, feedwater systems, and other connected equipment inside the water-steam-condensate cycle.

Therefore, continuous dosing is essential to maintaining the integrity and stability of the protective film over time.

As steam and condensate circulate through the system, the filming amines continuously renew and reinforce the protective barrier on internal surfaces, supporting long-term operational reliability.

Fineamin Programs

Treatment Type Purpose When It Is Used
Boil-Out Procedure Initial cleaning of deposits and contaminants. Generally, for new boilers.
Continuous Boiler Protection Corrosion, scale and carryover prevention. When searching for a long-term, reliable, and cost effective water treatment.
Boiler Preservation Precautionary measures during shutdowns. During outages, wet & dry storage for steam boilers, short & long term.
